Setting A New Sustainability Benchmark
In The Flooring Industry

We are proud to be setting a new sustainability benchmark in the flooring industry, with 68% recycled content in every collection, carbon neutrality, and a transformative vision for circular flooring.

Bolon started production in 1949 with a bold idea: to produce woven rugs from waste material. Put simply, it was recycling long before the word was common. Sustainability is built into our DNA. It’s an important part of who we are. We are proud that our sustainability work infuses all our products and not just select niche collections. When it comes to sustainability, Bolon is leading the way in the flooring industry.

Climate Neutral Product

At Bolon, we have decided not to have a green collection. All our flooring is sustainable and includes 68% waste material with 0% climate impact in every square meter. Plus, we still have the most premium design flooring on the market.

Climate Neutral Production

Manufacturing takes place in our factory in Ulricehamn, Sweden. The factory has a closed cooling system with no additives and water consumption. We use only renewable and certified electricity, making our entire production climate-neutral. The solar panels on our roof cover 25% of the annual demand.

Meet Bolon’s sustainability experts, Head of Sustainability, Håkan Nordin, and Material Developer, Mario Janjetovic. They answer some of our most frequently asked questions about Bolon’s material innovations and how we have become the new benchmark in sustainable flooring.
